Certified Personal Trainer, Nutrition Coach, and Nurse Practitioner

My Journey...

I have worked in the healthcare field for 14 years..hard to believe. I started my healthcare journey as a registered nurse and then advanced my career and became a nurse practitioner. 
 

I always had an interest in fitness and nutrition, but was not sure how to get started. I was always the "skinny" girl that could eat whatever she wanted. But it wasn't until I tried my first Crossfit class that I realized how out of shape I actually was and I wanted to make a change.

I joined a Crossfit box, which helped push me in ways that I did not think possible. Unfortunately, scheduling did not allow me to workout consistently, so I decided to join a local gym. I was working out 3 - 4 times per week, gaining healthy weight, and feeling good about the changes and progress I was making. The one thing that was missing in my routine was proper nutrition. I knew how to eat, but with so much information out there, it became overwhelming on which diet to choose.

Now don't get me wrong, I love pizza, wings, nachos as much as the next person, but I knew I really need to focus on dietary changes if I wanted to fuel my workouts, but also help me feel better overall. 

 

Once I found my passion for fitness and nutrition, I decided to obtain my personal trainer and nutrition coach certification through the National Association of Sports Medicine (NASM).  I could not help but try to encourage others, especially my patients. Although I will not be providing any medical advise, I believe my background will help in better understanding your health and wellness goals, not just weight loss.

My goal is to help people be more proactive regarding their health and provide encouragement along their wellness journey.
